Pillar, three-times a winner around here, led until the 1f mark when tackling 6f on Wednesday. Danz Gift has seven course victories to his credit and has had just two runs since a track and trip victory last March. Tassel Flower is still a maiden but ran her best race to date last week while Maggie Thunder has only won once in 19 starts and has been looking high enough in the weights. AHYOKA went up 9lb for scoring here in September but still started favourite on his return to action last month. He didn't appear at his best that day and may just have needed the run to put the edge on him. Misterio has never won and was well beaten on her only start on the track.
