A wide open race this where we hold a marginal preference for CARLTON SCROOP ahead of Sir Liam and Make Amends. The selection can be a bit of a monkey having reared up and unseated his rider as the stalls opened last time but before that was in a decent run of form. Retaining the same mark he carried when narrowly missing out over a longer trip two starts ago he is just as affective over this distance and should go well. Sir Liam hails from the in-form Jim Boyle yard and has held his form well since scoring under a four pound lower mark in January. Probably at his best over a longer journey he can go well over this one and he should be in the mix. Make Amends is showing some improved form and should go well off this rating while Zalkani is perhaps a little over exposed these days but has been running well at this level for some time and looks good for place money. A very tight one to call this but Carlton Scoop can deliver the top prize.
