In depth

Verdict

Fabulous Emperor has shown enough to suggest that a maiden win awaits and he secures the vote ahead of Discomania and Piper General. Jamie Poulton's string of flat and national hunt performers have been running well of late and this horse was no exception when finishing three lengths behind Bridge Loan. He was not knocked about on that day and compensation awaits. Piper General does have a tendency to hang left in his races but appears progressive on what we have seen thus far. Discomania is a well-related sort who sets the benchmark for the contest off his current handicap mark. Brother Edward is a Jessica Harrington cast-off who looks bred to appreciate further but is sure to have his supporters now that Fallon is in the plate. Subtle Affair ran in two interesting soft ground maidens last year and would be of note if attracting market support.Of the remainder, the former Jamie Osborne raider, Kirkhammerton is upped in trip by Mark Polglase. A couple of future winners on view but Fabulous Emperor looks the more likelier of them today.
