Law Maker and Wicked Uncle are closely matched on their running over course and distance behind Ever Cheerful two weeks ago and both warrant respect but preference is for Overwing, who may be open to more improvement than most. The selection finally opened her account at the ninth time of asking when landing a course and distance maiden two months ago but Richard Hannon's filly had shown a reasonable level of form, including in handicaps, prior to that and she could improve past her main rivals today. Clipper Hoy is difficult to recommend on last week's evidence, while Lady Bahia gave little sign of encouragement on her return last week and of more interest may be Turibius. Admittedly the seven-year-old ultimately disappointed here last time but this is his trip and he has slipped to an attractive mark. Talcen Gwyn is on a long losing sequence and may prove to be best watched in a race where a chance is taken with Overwing in the hope that there is more improvement to come from Richard Hannon's filly.
