Paragon of Virtue gets the nod here over Tight Squeeze, Perfect Love, Easter Ogil and Danehill Lad. This has the makings of a close-knit affair, but despite joint topweight, Paragon of Virtue might be the answer after his solid comeback effort here 18 days ago. Off the track for eight months, Philip Mitchell's six-year-old was produced fit and ready to dispose of Mad Carew over 10 furlongs and was not stopping at the finish. A winner over today's distance already, he is well treated on last season's form still, and should go close before being aimed at one of the bigger races here in the new year. Tight Squeeze was rousted up to score off her highest ever mark at Redcar in October, and is much better treated on the all-weather. If ready, she can reach the frame, while Perfect Love hails from a yard that are always to be feared in the winter months. Danehill Lad has had the misfortune to run into in-form animals Cold Turkey and Mission To Mars on his last three outings here so his supporters will be quietly confident of a good run, and Easter Ogil is more or less on the same mark as when rattling up a sequence on the Polytrack in February. Without being overly confident, we select Paragon of Virtue to beta some decent opposition.
