In depth

Verdict

Clareyblue has been looking a couple of pounds high after scoring at Newcastle in January and may need to drop in the ratings. CLOG MAKER completed a double here and at Kempton in February but didn't return until a fortnight ago when a close third in a Class 3 at Kempton. He shouldn't mind reverting to Turf and looks the one to beat. Never Dark, a 5f winner at Kempton in June, disappointed at Chelmsford last time while Heer We Go Again's four victories have all been over 5f. The latter remark also applies to seven-times winner Equally Fast and though Little Brown Trout has won on Polytrack here he's is better on softer ground on Turf
