In depth

Verdict

Matchless is by Galileo out of Group 3 winner Bye Bye Birdie who has produced winners with her first two offspring. He has no fancy entries and may have to give best to another son of Galileo in TOSHIZOU, who took time to warm up at Leopardstown but was going on strongly at the finish. Knocknakilla was a 125/1 chance when a close fifth in a strong maiden at the Curragh but is improving. Jim Bolger has been in such brilliant form with his juveniles that Dublin Journal is expected to go well after showing up nicely for a long way over a mile at Punchestown. Baseman, by Kingman out of a Group 3 winner, is a newcomer to keep an eye on.
