A very competitive classified event with many in with a shout, including Warrad, Selective and Always Esteemed, but we will side with Sharplaw Venture. Willie Haggas's filly made a belated seasonal debut when chasing home Antidiluvian and Celtic Heroine at a safe distance in a Windsor conditions race last time. Her form of last season in Listed events was excellent and she is fully expected to improve on that first outing. Always Esteemed was third in a valuable Pontefract handicap last time and should not be far away, although he does look up against it with the selection on official ratings. Selective has been in the doldrums this term but if recapturing last seasons form he would be a danger to all. Warrad may do best of the others, he landed a Newbury maiden last season, beating top handicapper Zonus, and will improve for his seasonal bow at Sandown. So a very tricky contest but Sharplaw Venture may just oblige.
