Mr Floodlight can defy topweight at the expense of Isphahan and Ocean of Dreams, with Grand Jour best of the rest. Mr Floodlight saw in the new year by opening his account here 10 days ago, and is obviously feeling the benefit of a gelding operation. He has joint topweight here, but the drop back in trip will help in his bid to follow up, as he was tiring rapidly at the end of that mile contest. He meets some equally in-form rivals though, including Ocean of Dreams who has rattled off a hat-trick of wins. James Bethall's charge has been given a little break since the last of them and they are testing the water here to see if he stays seven furlongs. He has shaped like a sprinter to date and may just struggle in his bid for a four-timer. Isphahan makes his all-weather debut, having won off a mark of 70 on fast ground at Brighton in October. He could easily make his name on the sand, while Grand Jour has plenty of stamina, and form on this track, so is another for the short-list. An interesting contest can go to Mr Floodlight.
