Dream Champion is a tentative pick in the absence of any further information although Babcary and Direct Debit are respected. It was not a particularly hot contest but Dream Champion shaped up as if a race was in the offing when finishing a creditable second at Wolverhampton. If we were to take the winners turf form on a literal basis, it would make him the proverbial good thing. Babcary has plenty of stamina in the pedigree. There are a number of close relations who were speedy enough to win over six furlongs. Direct Debit produced an encouraging turf debut at Ripon. A backward type, there is probably more to come. Laheen was a very expensive purchase at 88 000 guineas. She is related to a number of middle distance winners in the States. Russian Mist is another debutant with relations that have showed form in America. Black Beauty produced no fairytales on a Newmarket debut. A race with many imponderables for those who want to get involved and few could argue that Dream Champion has the benefit of form on the board.
