    Verdict

Musiotal has ability but has proven to be difficult to win with and Paul Blockley's gelding may be best watched so preference is for Young Kate, who is taken to follow up her recent course and distance success and score at the main expense of Mr Belvedere. The last mentioned has a 6lb pull for half-a-length with the selection on their running over course and distance last time and has an obvious chance of reversing the form on these terms but Young Kate seemed to win with a bit in hand that day and is taken to come out on top again. Dexileos split both Young Kate and Mr Belvedere in that race last week and also has to be respected but he may find it more difficult to dominate from his outside draw today. Tod Sloan lost no caste in defeat behind a useful type in a maiden last time and drops in class, while Spanish Music, who is closely matched with him on that evidence, is more exposed. A similar contest over course and distance looks to hold the key to the outcome of this contest though and the winner that day Young Kate is taken to come out on top again.
