Verdict

Reassure has something to prove over the distance having recorded both of last year’s wins over the minimum trip. Maiden winner Al Dawodiya looks no nearer picking-up a handicap while Its A Given disappointed at Kempton on her handicap debut. But COMPANY MINX was having her first outing of the year when finishing a close-up fifth at Ascot last week and Clive Cox’ filly looks capable of winning off her current mark on that evidence. Portugueseprincess went close at Leicester before well beaten over 7f and Flippa The Strippa continues to struggle.

Reassure 11-2 (9-7) Held up in mid-division on inside, headway over 1f out, hung left when not much room and weakened inside final furlong, eased, 11th of 13, 7 1/2l behind Dark Regard (9-1) at Wolverhampton 6f (4) pol in Nov.

Al Dawodiya (IRE) 22-1 (9-2) Held up towards rear, still well back when ridden over 1f out, headway between horses final furlong, 6th of 12, 4l behind Last Surprise (9-7) at Kempton 6f hcp (3) pol in Sep.
