A poor finale where HATMAN JACK can surprise a few with Maggie Kate and The Geester the others for the shortlist. Brendan Powell's charge has won here previously and with the cheekpieces that accompanied that effort back on today, the gelding can make use of the handicapper's leniency. Maggie Kate bids for a hattrick. The mare has won at Brighton and Chepstow though has a recent absence to overcome. The Geester has performed adequately in two recent spins following absence so it would be no surprise to see him go close. Wreningham represents a shrewd yard and will be noteworthy if there is any money around this afternoon. Diddums has regressed over the last year so Jamie Spencer's presence is a surprise. Don Pele has dropped to a feasible handicap mark though winning has been something that he has not found easy of late. Sherjawy is a likeable enough sort at lesser levels but would have made appeal at Kempton. Hatman Jack is not without negatives though the likely price should compensate them.
