In depth

Verdict

The finale looks like a weak affair in which Armariver, Dans Pride and Whistling Fred all have leading chances and the vote is given to Armariver. The selection is a well-bred sort from the Paul Nicholls yard and he will not have to be anything out of the ordinary to make a winning debut. The market should be monitored for any clues but if the vibes are positive then it should pay to take the hint. Dans Pride should be his biggest rival as he made a winning debut in a bumper on this track when easily beating Sintos. He won with plenty to spare that day so he should go well. Whistling Fred is stoutly-bred and he ran well when second behind Dreams Jewel in a bumper at Hereford on his debut. He is sure to come on for that run and is entitled to plenty of respect. Mikado Melody is from a shrewd yard and is another to note in the market, but we are happy to stick with Armariver as our idea of the winner.
