Cormorant Wharf could be the one to side with here as he looks capable of stepping up in trip to beat Ammenayr and Annishirani. The selection has raced just the four times in his career and put up one of his best performances in defeat last time out at this track. He shaped that day as though a step up in trip would suit and has an excellent chance from his low draw. Ammenayr is also lightly-raced and sprang a surprise at last season's Craven meeting when scoring at 66/1. Plagued by injuries since then he showed a return to form on his latest appearance at this track and with his jockey booking looking interesting he should go close. Annishirani has twice won at this track and cannot be underestimated. He disappointed last time out when pulling too hard and was subsequently given a break. He should return here in top form but his price may not represent value. Being from a minor stable, the selection Cormorant Wharf should represent value and should benefit from the assistance of a promising apprentice in the saddle.
