Uninspiring stuff with a number of out-of-form performers taking their chances in the sprint handicap. An interest at minimal stakes is given to Gerard Butler's Mayville Magic to redeem herself. The well-related filly has made a couple of moderate efforts over further (albeit in better company) and is returned back to her ideal trip. She won her maiden here in April in fine style and after a pipe-opener at the track a couple of weeks ago over a mile, she should just about be ready to find her way to the winners' enclosure. Andilisa finished third on her British debut to Pretty Clear. As most of her running has been in France, the handicapper has not had too much opportunity to assess her. Branston Tiger appears to handle any ground and this is his debut on an artifical surface. His trainer could be in better form though. Of the remainder, Northern Games makes some appeal at big odds. Alan Berry's yard has had a moderate season so far but there have at least been a few positives of late.
