Henry Cecil has a good record in this race and Midday could go well as could Tottie but, in a race where there have been as many surprises as fancied winners, it may be worth taking a chance with WADAAT. Anice Stellato won a maiden that has produced some smart performers but the form of her renewal isn't exceptional although she did the job well and is regarded as one for this year whilst it's worth noting that her trainer has saddled a winner and a runner-up in the last two renewals. Floodlit is one of a handful in the field without an Oaks entry and, whilst she's respected, the time of the maiden she won at Kempton was only ordinary. Inhibition is from a successful family but she was a long way behind Midday last year and needs to step up on the form that she's shown to date. The trip could be an issue for her debut conqueror who was unlucky to bump into Chester Vase third Debussy at Epsom where, to be fair, she stayed on well enough over ten. July Jasmine wears the owner's first colours and she's a half-sister to the talented Rob Roy who never won beyond a mile and never raced beyond ten but she impressed at Leicester where her trainer has introduced some smart horses over the years. Tottie's only win came at Brighton but she finished close up in a Listed race after that and, on paper, promises to be one of the stronger stayers in the line-up and she merits respect for an owner who has had a winner and a second in the last two renewals. Clive Brittain is often derided for his approach but it has paid dividends on any number of occasions and his filly looks interesting here despite having something to find on the book. On her second start she ran second to Big Bound who went close to landing a Group 3 next time before dropping back to a mile where she did everything that was required in workmanlike fashion. Stamina isn't guaranteed but she shapes like a stayer and her sire has produced the likes of Short Skirt so it looks worth taking a chance with Wadaat in what appears to be an open renewal.
