Silky Steps, Gower Belle and Southwest Star all enter calculations and we are with Silky Steps. It would have been easy to crab our selection having seen her find little on her latest start but the form of that maiden has been boosted by Debonnaire's victory in better grade and it could be that a mark of 66 is helpful. Gower Belle is without headgear this afternoon. She didn't quite get home over seven last year so the trip is something of an imponderable. Southwest Star is more exposed than most. He has a lower turf mark to exploit. Danseuse Volante is dropped in grade having last been seen in listed company. Mrs Summersby ran as if in need of the run on her reappearance and is another to make a first appearance in handicaps. Saafend Geezer has been beaten off similar marks but it is unusual to see Brian Meehan continue to persevere if the horse has no ability. Bid Art is respected given the recent return to form of the Andrew Balding team. Silky Steps gets the nod.
