Verdict

Preference is for MIDNIGHT FEAST ahead of Nothing To Hide and newcomer Catalyze. Peter Winkworth's already gelded two-year-old improved greatly from first to second runs, only going down by a short-head to Royal Exchange at Salisbury last month. He is unlikely to be anywhere near his 50/1 sp that day but if he can negotiate a wide draw then he should give it a bold go. If his pitch is too tricky to negotiate then it may pay to side with Nothing To Hide who holds Red Zeus on their run behind Capaill Liath at Windsor. He is another who seemed to learn plenty from his debut and is respected although a longer trip in time will help. Back For Tea was unfancied for his Windsor bow but is capable of better, Valeo Si Vales was backed ahead of his latest Goodwood run and he is not discounted dropped back in trip (holds Nothing To Hide on their debut run at Salisbury), whilst Avalon Bay shaped with promise on his all-weather debut at Kempton and is well-drawn for a big run today. Elsewhere it doesn't look the strongest bunch of newcomers perhaps with the exception of Catalyze. He sports a tongue-tie for his debut but any market support for this South American-bred colt would look ominous. This looks a decent opportunity for Midnight Feast to make it third time lucky.
