The weaker division of the maiden should go to Merayaat with Niobe's Way and Water Pistol among the dangers. The Marcus Tregoning charge can be forgiven a run on soft ground at Bath and if he can reproduce any of his progeny's ability, this race is most definitely for the taking. Niobe's Way ran a fair race in a Sandown handicap on good to firm in June but has disappointed on two starts since. Water Pistol hails from a yard who are struggling for winners of late. On the positive side, he is bred to get severe distances as a progeny of Double Trigger but we are prepared to oppose him on account of the trainer's current malaise. Art Class was unfancied on debut but must surely be better than the bare form of his first racecourse experience. Sole Agent was well beaten on a massive step up in trip to a 14-furlong handicap and is vulnerable to lesser exposed rivals. The Cyzer team had a 100/1 winner at Brighton earlier in the week so Administrator is given a cursory glance in the market. Merayaat is bred in the blue and he would be struggling to find a weaker opportunity than this to break his duck.
