      Verdict

      Rated 77, Merhoob should be beating the equally exposed pair Lady Lloyd and Island Express on these terms. But the former found a newcomer too good in a similar maiden race here last time and POLLY'S SERENADE may prove to be above average. Richard Hughes' filly can count smart all-weather winners Ballesteros and Seve among her relatives and any support in the betting would boost confidence. Dangerous Thought went backwards last time though it's too soon to write the Gosden colt off just yet.
