A tough handicap where it will be far too easy to miss the winner completely Preference is for handicap debutant CROSS KENNON ahead of Littleton Aldor, Amron Hill and Wondersobright. Jennie Candlish's gelding was an eye-catcher in two bumper runs last year but has yet to reproduce any performance of note in three runs over hurdles this year. A former winning point-to-pointer over three miles, this well-related gelding could be better than this opening mark of 72 and whilst he may need further in time, a big run could still be on the cards. Chalice Welcome creeps in at the bottom of the weights, whilst at the other end of the handicap Amron Hill returns to hurdles after a spell on the all-weather and he is not to be overlooked with the stable having a good year. Miss Phoebe ran a better race last time and is a rare Sylvester Kirk jumps runner, whilst Wondersobright has more experience and has been in good form of late but he looks high enough in the weights at the moment. Littleton Aldor returning from an absence, Kassuta who ran a fair race in defeat last time, and Fantastic Morning who has been seen recently on the level are just three more for any shortlist; however in one of the hardest races I¿ve ever seen it is Cross Kennon who the pin falls on.
