Verdict
CINEMATIC gets the nomination. Majehar and Master Pegasus are holding their form well and can play good supporting roles, while Kings Topic is not without a chance if he can reproduce the sort of form he showed when winning at Great Leighs last summer. The recent evidence is hardly inspiring, though. Admittedly, a similar statement applies to Master Pegasus, who won off a mark of 80 two years ago but has consistently underachieved since then. The gelding does act on the Polytrack but, as he is a law unto himself, he cannot be forwarded as anything more than a punter's choice. Majehar has the best recent form on offer and is likely to be priced up accordingly. The mount of Tom Queally has won twice from nine previous visits to Lingfield; so has nothing to fear from the course. However, a form-line through Saucy (on old rival of a few of these) leaves Cinematic with a fighting chance on these terms. The Jim Boyle-trained gelding returned to racing after a year on the sidelines with a solid effort here 16 days ago. This quick reappearance suggests all is well with the six-year-old and, assuming the betting vibes are positive, Cinematic is worth chancing against Majehar in the lucky last.
