Verdict
WHISKEY CREEK is a sporting choice in this wide open sprint handicap. Magic Glade is wily enough to be a threat, while the in-form Fantasy Fighter is likely to be a popular choice in the betting and merits serious consideration. Simpsons Gamble would also be a danger if it could be guaranteed that he would break smartly. But his tendency to leave himself with too much to do near the finish will always be a concern. Fantasy Fighter is an improved performer of late and is on just an 8lb higher mark than for his Great Leighs success in December. He may still have more to offer but does face a stiffer test today. Conversely, Magic Glade's rating has dropped like a stone through water during the past twelve months and he (on face value, at least) has a bit to prove. However, he is likely to appreciate the return to six furlongs today, so is no forlorn hope on these terms. Nevertheless, Whiskey Creek still has further scope for improvement and this consistent gelding is holding his form well enough for him to be a strong fancy to give us a good run for the money this afternoon.
