        Verdict

        A wide-open contest rounds off proceedings, with only a tentative vote going to Tous Les Deux over the likes of Gavarnie Beau, Garstang and Guilded Warrior. Fulke Johnson Houghton sent out a nice winner on Monday and hopes are high that Tous Les Deux will step up on his comeback third at Bath at the end of last month. The son of Efisio, at one time considered Royal Ascot at York material, picked up an injury last summer and is only now returning to full strength. There is plenty of improvement to come, and he should be followed this term. Gavarnie Beau has been placed on each of his last four starts but is becoming frustrating to follow, however he should at least hold Guilded Warrior on Folkestone running. Garstang has just gone off the boil a bit of late, and Imperial Gain will be better for the outing. Add the enigmatic Catspraddle to the equation and you have the makings of a hard one to call, but the pin comes down on Tous Les Deux.
