Mind Alert continues to flatter to deceive and we will side with Zazous ahead of recent winners Greenwood and Mulberry Lad. The last-named had Mind Alert behind him in third when successful over six furlongs here on Tuesday and whilst a 6lb penalty should see Derek Shaw's runner turn the tables, he certainly isn't straightforward and despite travelling well, is fancied to get turned over once again. Greenwood finally got off the mark on the all-weather when staying on to win well last time out and with the step up in trip no problem, he looks a live danger. Mountain Pass seemed to struggle off his revised mark last time out having won the time before, so Zazous looks the one to side with and gets the nomination. He is now only one pound above his highest winning mark and was only beaten three-quarters of a length last time out. He steps up in trip today and whilst he is yet to win over the distance, he stays the trip well enough and is adaptable in regards to tactics. In what looks an open contest, Zazous is taken at a price to land the spoils.
