      Verdict

      GREENWICH VILLAGE is our idea of the winner with Mr Aitch and Benhego served up as alternatives. Connections of William Knight's charge have spoken of him as a potential Chester Cup horse this year. That is high praise indeed though he is appearing to improve for his racing. Mr Aitch accounted for Baan when the pair met last month. There was no pace on in the early stages of that contest so whether the form stands up to examination is another matter entirely. The market proved spot on in relation to Benhego last time out. He accounted for the smart, Mission Control, with plenty of authority. Wabbraan dotted up in a claimer at Southwell. He is evidently much better than that grade and the outcome of this experiment will give us clues as to where he will go next. Miss Serena was given some hefty punishment from the assessor for a good run of form over the summer. Eastwell Smiles seems out of his depth. Greenwich Village secures the recommendation.
