Verdict

It's unlikely that third reserve Saoirse Dun will get a run but he'd be an obvious choice if doing so. FAR AWAY SO CLOSE is the classiest performer on view here and though having a weight to match his ability can come out on top if taking his chance. Paul Nolan's charge, a winner over hurdles at Aintree's Grand National meeting in April, has yet to score over fences but made a cracking handicap debut behind Lead Kindly Light at Fairyhouse and produced another excellent run behind Argocat here yesterday. Alf Wright is hardly consistent but couldn't have won more easily at Wexford though the assessor has had his revenge with a 13lb rise. Thouva is a young chaser with plenty of potential who makes his handicap debut with a lowly weight and can get involved while the likes of Hans Crescent, who looked right back to form at Clonmel last month, and Sumkindasuprstar, who wasn't far behind the selection at Fairyhouse, can also get competitive.
