ALEX D has earned a mark of 87 after showing excellent form in strong maiden company. He started odds-on at Naas last month but got no sort of run. That effort is best ignored and compensation awaits. Benaud could prove the best of the remainder with experience though the main threat looks to be Aidan O'Brien's newcomer The Piano Player, a €300,000 son of No Nay Never whose dam is from the family of a French Derby winner. Dilseacht is a likely improver with her stable in such good form.
