DELTA WORK was beaten a neck by Next Destination in a Grade 1 at Punchestown in April, his final start over hurdles, and could be even better over fences. He only scrambled home on his chasing bow but overcame trouble in-running to beat Le Richebourg in the Grade 1 Drinmore at Fairyhouse and the latter's victory at the highest level here on Wednesday suggests he'll be very difficult to beat. His stable companion Blow By Blow was beaten a long way in the Drinmore but that wasn't his form as he'd only just failed to land a Grade 2 at Punchestown earlier. Judgement Day has only been beaten once in five starts in novice company over fences and that was on his debut but faces much stiffer opposition here. However, his trainer wouldn't be running him here unless confident of a big run and Rachael Blackmore prefers him to the stable's Nick Lost. Mortal hails from a yard who can do little wrong and he showed real battling qualities to make a successful chasing debut at Fairyhouse.
