Aidan O'Brien had eight of the original dozen entries and has left three in. Lieutenant General won a maiden over the track and trip but has been beaten a long way in two subsequent starts while Californiadreaming was beaten in a maiden at Naas when last seen in May though that form has worked out well. BLACK SEA looks the best of the trio and may prove good enough for this. He made a pleasing debut at Gowran and was an impressive winner over this trip at the Curragh so with much more to come he can make the step-up in class. Jim Bolger runs a pair and Kevin Manning has chosen Sunday's very easy Naas maiden Tribal Beat winner over Mimicking but his mount had been put in his place by Blue De Vega on that track earlier and Michael O'Callaghan's charge looks the main threat.
