Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won this on numerous occasions and has three engaged this time. Claudio Monteverdi and The Major General are both Galileo newcomers and the latter, who cost 1.5m euros and is related to several very smart performers, should prove best of that pair though the experience of Reckless Gold can stand him in good stead and he can come out best of the trio. He's been transferred to Ballydoyle after an eye-catching third behind Shogun at the Curragh when trained by Shay Barry and looks a decent prospect. However, the form pick is STELLAR MASS after his close fourth in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes and Jim Bolger's charge can take the drop in class in his stride. Michael Halford's Shamardal colt Mighty Legend could prove best of the remainder.
