It wasn't the greatest of maidens that Weather Watch won at Tipperary and the placed horses have been beaten subsequently but he'll improve for the experience and the assessor hasn't been too harsh. WAVER is a son of Galileo out of a useful mare but so far hasn't shown any of their ability. Tonight's longer trip may see him in a better light and he's hardly overburdened for his handicap debut so gets the nod. Strandfield Lady would be a certainty on her close third over the course and distance in a premier handicap in September but she's been dropping in the weights without any notable results and may need softer ground, a remark that also applies to the useful hurdler Tugboat. Fantasy King has a track and trip victory to his credit and though well beaten on his two latest starts they were in much better class.
