In depth

Verdict

UNCLE JUMBO has been thereabouts in both outings this year including a third at Chester last time. An apprentice’s 7lb allowance could give him the edge in this and he gets the vote. Nelson Gay’s winning run came to end with a placed effort over 5f at Goodwood and he’s upped a further 7lb while Ballyconneely Bay is upped in class after placing at Ascot. Novice winners Twilight Calls and the returning Imperial Yellow make their handicap debuts and are others to consider.
