We really do not have a strong view on this race, with the forecast favourite, Airedale Lad, given the nod over the likes of Russalka, Redoubtable, Indian's Landing and Diamond Ring. The selection's credentials read as follows. Seemed to make some improvement when noted making late headway last time and Jamie Spencer is an interesting booking. The case rests. Russalka holds claims on the best of last summer's form, as does the doughty multiple winner Redoubtable. Magic Summer seemed to show signs of coming back to form at Lingfield last time and could go well, while Indian's Landing's best Irish form of early summer puts him in the mix and Eddies Jewel at least knows what it takes to win at this level. Based on all-weather form, Donegal Shore would be competitive, while Diamond Ring often runs into some money and, interestingly steps up in trip today. Devious Ayers' Brighton win is looking more like a curiosity with each day that passes. There is no doubt that Blake Hall Lad would hold a chance based on his September Bath win, but he has been disappointing since while, finally, last autumn's form would give Ace Club a big shout as he steps up in trip, so do not be surprised if he goes well. All in all, though, we have not got a strong view, but the vote goes to Airedale Lad.
