A few plodders involved here and the best of them in these conditions could well be Chateau Rose. By Roselier, the seven-year-old will relish the bottomless ground and has proved that he can handle it when finishing placed in six of his nine races to date. Admittedly his first attempt at chasing was nothing special, but provided he has learned from that then he is a tentative selection in a race where heavy involvement is not recommended. Nicky Henderson has had a great season to date, though Deoch An Dorais is a rare runner who has yet to get his nose in front. The form of his Doncaster second to Captain's Table would be good enough to give him a decent chance here, though he parted company with his pilot early on last time here at Leicester and he has a bit to prove now, not least his ability to see out the trip. Of the remainder Go White Lightning makes some appeal after a gutsy effort at Doncaster last time. He may get through the ground okay, though connections have gone on record saying that he prefers a sound surface, so maybe there will be other days for the grey.
