Prince Of Delphi can open his account in a wide-open handicap in which the likes of Dvinsky, Guilded Warrior, Cornus and last year's winner Balakiref all merit respect. Prince Of Delphi found only subsequent Haydock winner Kyle too good on his return to action at Salisbury three weeks ago, and Henry Candy's lightly-raced colt now starts life in handicaps on a mark of just 72. That could turn out to be a very favourable mark indeed, and he can prove up to the task, despite being surrounded by plenty of battle-hardened opponents. Dvinsky is creeping up the weights, but can go close if getting out quickly, while Guilded Warrior, a half-brother to River Falcon, has won twice on the all-weather but is yet to score on Turf. Cornus ran a respectable race when third at Newmarket, staying on well from off the pace, and last season's winner Balakiref lines up fitter after a quiet return at Beverley. He is on a pound lower mark than 12-months ago so will no doubt make a bold bid to repeat the feat, but he may find the improving Prince Of Delphi too good this time.
