Verdict
Lucksin has been a model of consistency so far, and can gain due reward in the finale, with Best Double the only serious rival. Lucksin has certainly not lived up to his name so far, having had the misfortune to be placed no less than nine times from 16 career outings. Connections must be scratching their heads to come up with the answer, but everything comes to those that wait, and the gelding, who seems to go on any ground, can surely make experience count here. His only major rival appears to be Best Double, but on past evidence, he will find the ground too fast, and the stable is still not out of the doldrums. Of the rest, Vicky Pollard only showed a small glimmer of promise when third at Southwell last time, while Ceredig has produced just one decent effort so far, when third at Bath in May. So, despite a drop in trip, Lucksin appears to hold all the aces.
