Psycho Cat can get losses back at the expense of Final Tune and Macs Ransom, with Lucys Lady also in with a squeak. The latter hails from the stable that sent out last year's winner La Viola so she may well be set up to make amends for her defeat when fancied on this course at the end of June. She hung left throughout that day and will need to be kept together by Andrew Elliot. In any case preference is for Psycho Cat who also left the money in the bookies' satchels on his last visit to the racecourse. That was at Fokestone in April when he was sent off favourite to land a class 5 handicap. In truth, Paul Blockley's charge was disappointing, but is capable at this level, having won twice, and was a good second over six furlongs here at the start of the Turf season. He could not get away from his rivals on the softish ground that day, and we feel that he is worth taking a chance with on today's faster going. The trip should not be a problem really, and he gets a tentative vote. Final Tune is still a maiden, but went close in a Catterick handicap earlier this month, while Macs Ransom has been knocking at the door since being dropped to this level, and is yet another to consider. However, we return to Psycho Cat as the answer.
