      Verdict

      An extremely modest contest in which RICOCHET does receive the vote but not with any real confidence. Jamie Osborne's Lope De Vega gelding is by the far the best of these on his overall profile but the concern is that his last two runs, especially most recently at this track, have represented backward steps. Maybe the drop to the minimum trip will help and he's afforded another chance. It's the same story with Zaula, trying this trip for the first time after not doing too badly in a modest handicap when fourth at Brighton. Clive Cox runs two of his lesser lights with jockey booking suggesting Swiss Chill is preferred of the pair on a first start since being gelded.
