Despite the large field, plenty seem out of form at present. John Butler has done a good job with ROCK IN SOCIETY since inheriting the gelding from Ireland and he should approve of being dropped back to 7f after tiring late on over a mile latest. His best form has been on artificial surfaces but his most recent run when finishing in mid-division at Brighton was a fair Turf effort. Confrerie is likely to go off as market leader in view of high recent runs but he seems to reserve his best for Brighton's seaside track whose undulations and turns are very different from today's straight 7f. He is highly respected all the same with Winklemann and Just An Idea looking next best.
