Antica is the pick over Charlie Delta, Westport and Blues In The Night. This promises to be another tight affair despite being one of the smaller fields on view here, but the vote goes to Antica. The Mark Tompkins inmate came back with a bang in April when getting the better of subsequent winner Bentong in soft ground at Ripon, and has been consistent in defeat since. His latest start saw him finish third to the odds-on Final Verse in the Listed Heron Stakes at Goodwood, and on that form he has nothing to fear from any of today's rivals, with conditions to suit. Charlie Delta showed some improvement to finish runner-up in a class 4 handicap at Redcar last time, but this is another grade higher, while Westport is better than his Ripon defeat indicates, but his ability to handle the soft ground is in doubt. Blues In The Night also showed his best form on faster going at Haydock a fortnight ago, as did Conrad at Pontefract. So, it would appear that Antica has more going for him than most, and he is the percentage call.
