    Verdict

WYCLIF (NAP) made a good impression when overcoming a slow start on debut before running out the decisive winner of a 7f soft ground maiden auction, for which he receives the mandatory 7lb penalty. He was backed into favouritism on that occasion, suggesting he's well thought of, and sets a demanding standard despite the concession of weight all round. Escape Proof was also sent off market leader on debut and also started slowly but was never truly competitive. He should prove far more streetwise here for a yard which is now in ominously good form. Fedora Fits is next best of those with experience and Compensate is an interesting newcomer.
