Haunting Memories is going the right way and should follow up here, with Pivotal Flame and Happy Event out to make sure that he does not have things too easy. The Michael Jarvis-trained youngster caught the eye on his Newmarket introduction, and it was no surprise when he went on to open his account at York next time. He showed that he could handle soft ground on the Knavesmire, and as there is more improvement to come, the son of Barathea should be the one to be on, with this extra furlong holding no fears on breeding. Philip Robinson gave him a canny ride at York and is in the saddle again here. Pivotal Flame has kept good company since making a winning debut at York and is the main danger, although on the evidence so far, he might find the trip a bit too far at present. Happy Event has been well placed to win two of his four career starts, but this big son of Makbul has more to do on this occasion, as does Elgin Marbles, and all in all, Haunting Memories looks to have been found a suitable opportunity to add to his tally.
