This is a dreadful event from a betting point of view, and Melody King gets the smallest of votes to beat the likes of Absolutely Soaked and Blue Daze. Melody King is drawn high in stall 18 and could be the best of a poor bunch if able to repeat his third to Red Sovereign in class E company at Kempton in July. It is a big if though, and he is no good thing to add to last year's nursery win at Chepstow. However, if able to get out quickly and dictate matters, he should be there or thereabouts. Absolutely Soaked has a decent jockey booked to ride but has not shown anything this term, while Blue Daze, drawn low, has not mirrored the achievements of most of his stablemates so far. Scooby Dooby Do was taken out of a race at the weekend to run here instead so should not be totally left out, especially if the action switches to the stands side. It is more in hope than optimism that Melody King is selected.
