Verdict

DRAMATIC DEVICE has to give 9lb to what appear to be his main dangers but sets a decent enough standard to receive the nod. He is the sole member of the field with solid form and an official rating and was only a short head away from breaking his maiden in a decent Newmarket handicap last month. He also had useful French form with Andre Fabre and is preferred to Look Closely, a son of Sea The Stars who is expected to progress from an unspectacular debut behind Logician. Final Orders and Magic Act are also by Derby winners and hail from quality yards and should be checked in the market accordingly on debut.
