In depth

Verdict

DESERT STRIKE has been running consistently well all season and is given the vote to land himself in the winners enclosure once again, while Mattamia and Tagula Breeze are both worth noting. The selections last win came on the all weather at Great Leighs back in January. He then had a winter break before his reappearance in May. He caught the eye on his latest start at Folkestone running into second spot behind Hi Shinko. He still looks potentially well handicapped and if he can reproduce his recent form he will take all the beating. Mattamia broke his maiden tag at Nottingham on his seasonal reappearance in April and ran second off a pound lower mark at Windsor last time out. He still looks like an improving sort so any market moves should be noted. Tagual Breeze has run well on a number of occasions without getting his head in front. He carries top weight which will make life tough and the handicapper may have him where he wants him for the time being. Desert Strike on the other hand looks well treated and takes preference.
