In depth
Verdict
Whitehall didn't handle heavy ground here last time but has a stayer's pedigree and should be suited by the step up in trip. Bold Reason made his debut in a strong Sandown maiden then just failed to hold Real Gent on heavy going at Haydock when the remainder were well beaten. He'll take some beating though may meet his match again in BOMBYX. James Fanshawe's charge didn't get going until much too late at Newmarket but made eye-catching headway when the race was all over and the winner has given the form a massive boost. Faadhel was well supported at Doncaster in August and will be suited by the extra furlong while there are plenty of well-connected newcomers on show including the Cape Cross colt Escalator.
