Verdict
HAFAWA is fancied to get the better of Dawnbreak and Cumulus Nimbus with the remainder hard to recommend. The selection came with a strong run to land the spoils at Pontefract having been held up in rear and improved on that form when narrowly missing out in the Horn Blower Conditions Stakes at Ripon. She was a shade unfortunate not to score that day as she hung across the track before being carried right by the eventual winner and it's to be hoped that her failure to keep a straight line was down to inexperience rather than a wayward nature. Dawnbreak did everything required of her on debut but raced too freely when drawn out wide at Newbury and can probably be judged as better than the bare form. The form of that Newbury race looks solid enough and it would be no surprise to see her fare better here if she settles better. Cumulus Nimbus has the edge in experience and shouldn't be underestimated. The only time that he's finished out of the frame came in a well contested Group 3 at Sandown and the form of his other starts is solid. He has a little to find on these terms but looks sure to run his race and shouldn't be underestimated but we're going to take a chance that Hafawa can find further improvement and keep a straight path.
