Sean Curran's CAPTAIN SMOOTHY was only beaten half-a-length by Wherrimon over course and distance at the beginning of the month and he has an obvious chance of going one better today off the same mark so gets the vote to do just that with the main dangers rated as All Sonsilver and Gentleman Jimmy. The last mentioned is a rare runner over fences for Hugh Morrison and he has slipped to a fair mark but has not won since March 2006 so is likely to have to settle for minor honours at best. Henry Daly's Boomerang ran better at Huntingdon last time but is hard to back with any confidence on recent form and of more interest may be Andrew Turnell's Wadswick Ben, who is lightly raced and looks to be going the right way. Minella For Food is similarly lightly raced and has to be considered for Evan Williams although more solid claims are probably held by Peter Kelsall's All Sonsilver, who ran well when a close third to The Thirsty Bricky at Towcester last month. Captain Smoothy has an obvious chance though following his effort here last time and is hard to oppose.
